I will be phasing out this blog in favor of private communications between the various groups I'm collaborating with. It's been fun! Maybe I'll update again when/if I get a different blog up and running!

In a couple of months, I will have experienced 1 full year within the OELVN community. I learned a lot about working on games, games in general, writing, drawing, programming, working with a team, working with people in general.....

As 2013 approaches I am going to push myself to the limit until the end of the year. I want to roll out some changes to skyharborr's non-existent web presence. First, there will be TWO skyharborr blogs. This blog will continue to house status updates for collaborative projects and notifications of availability that will affect collaborative projects (basically nitty-gritty dev stuff). The 2nd blog will be for updates and infos about the solo projects and probably game reviews and other goodies like that. I will be using blogger for the 2nd blog since it's more familiar to people than fc2 and has more commenting options. Secondly, I want to finally finish off version.1 of skyharborr's site design and go live with it already, which means the weebly site is probably going to be phased out.

But nobody actually cares about that stuff. Here's the status report!

Reikun Project Status Report


This is a non-traditional status report. I am very busy with classes and crap so I don't actually work on stuff with any sort of regularity anymore. Herein I shall declare my foolhardy "goals" for art stuff.

Eternal Memories: Finish Aikou before the end of the year!! This includes both poses, clothing variations, colors, and expressions! And organize your damn layers so someone else can sanely navigate the file!--> Stretch: Do Naomi's lineart too, you fool.

TWCC: Do /that/. Second pose proposals for all the characters (and with any luck, figure out how to add the lineart into the old "finished" sprites without making it too weird........). --> Stretch: Finish the main menu GUI buttons and polish a BG, dammit.

Other stuff I owe people: .... Thinking about these just makes me feel guilty. But you gotta do what you gotta do.

Other other stuff: Oh god. Where do I even find time for you.

GC2


I have decided to more or less work on Project GC!! with a degree of consistency. It's fun working with others and all, but I really need to do something for myself after working on other projects for so long.

I've been slowly outlining the story over the past few months. I'm (not very) happy to say that I've outlined 1/3 of one protag's paths. So I've actually only outlined 1/6 of what needs to get outlined. But at least it's something! I'm still having problems with writing the other protag since I don't know him as well, but I've been thinking about him recently and given a bit more time, I can probably write in his voice soon...

The more immediate thing I can work on is sprites (yeh). Back in January, I did rough sketches of poses for all 11 (possibly more??) characters, and looking at them now, they were terrible. So I started redoing them. I haven't spilled much about GC at all regarding story/plot, but I can reveal a few naked character sketches, right? :P

Blue on the left is the 2nd protag-kun who is giving me problems... >o< The other two? WHO KNOWS WHAT ROLE THEY PLAY HAHA.

Anyway, besides GC, I am still working on various things for TWCC, EM, and... something else?! There are things afoot, both online and IRL. I can't wait to see how things unfold...!

Since releasing the TWCC demo, "most" of the sprite work is complete for that game. I've been trying to get back into working on Eternal Memories but drawing hasn't been going very well in general for me lately.

In skyharborr news, I've been thinking about my projects a bit more. I'm almost 1/3 done with outlining the entire plot for GC!! (I know, I'm slow). I'm very impatient with myself. I should do those deviantart memes that force your original characters into weird situations. Why is character development so hard argh. Speaking of skyharborr news, the main site now also has a news page for all that official announcement stuff.

A non-traditional status update:

Wow, so it's been quite a while since I've updated this huh? A lot of things have happened that have made my workload a bit ambiguous at times (even now, there are some things I'm not sure of), but the only thing left to do is keep calm and carry on. All I can say that's for certain is that the semester is over and I can work on assets and games again :)

Status update to come after I've figured out a few things...
